Overview
The tariff schedule lists every heading of the Harmonized System with the duty rate that applies to it, together with the units of quantity used for statistics and any specific or compound duty.
Preferential columns show the reduced or zero rates available under trade agreements, subject to the origin rules of the agreement concerned and to presentation of a valid proof of origin. Claiming a preference without valid proof is a declaration error, not a rounding difference.
The schedule is updated when the Harmonized System is amended internationally and when national rates change. Each edition states its effective date, and declarations are assessed against the edition in force on the date of acceptance.
