Compliance procedure
Lodging an administrative appeal
Challenging a valuation, classification or penalty decision before the administrative committee.
- Who it is for
- Declarants affected by a decision
- Steps
- 4
- Indicative duration
- 30 days from a complete submission
How it works
Step 1: Read the decision and note the deadline
Every decision states the appeal period and the office that issued it. Late appeals are not admissible except on stated grounds.
- Declarant
Step 2: Set out the grounds
Explain, point by point, why the decision is wrong in fact or in law, and attach the evidence you rely on.
- Declarant
Step 3: Request release against a guarantee
If the goods are held, ask for release against a guarantee so the appeal does not delay your supply chain.
- Declarant
Step 4: Hearing and written outcome
The committee reviews the file, may hear you in person, and notifies a reasoned decision. Further recourse to the courts remains available.
